I found that having the opportunity to use and interact with
different Web 2 activities was a really useful session as it gave me many ideas
to use with my own I.C.T. and literacy lessons. I found that these activities
are a really good way of engaging the children as well as using them as an
extension task.
I really enjoyed using the tagxedo application as I found it
a great way of getting children to think about all the different words to do
with one object, such as an apple. This would help them with their descriptive writing
as they would be able to generate a multitude of different words and descriptions.
Similarly, I really enjoyed using the
story bird application, and found that it would be a great way for children to
make their stories come alive. I believe that children would enjoy turing their
writing into story books.
This session has allowed me to learn new things and given me
new ideas for my own classroom practice. I think that children making and
sharing their own puzzles is an excellent extension task in I.C.T. lessons.
